Academic Integrity
Advisers should make a strong effort to be certain that advisees, particularly new students, understand what plagiarism is and how it relates to their academic work. Note that faculty policy requires each instructor to distribute, usually with the course syllabus, his or her departmental statement on academic honesty at the beginning of each course. In addition, the Dean of Advising and Co-Curricular Programs sends a letter to all new students prior to the beginning of the year emphasizing the importance of academic integrity.
