First-Generation Mentoring Program

Are you First? So are we.

At Lafayette, there are many first-generation college students, faculty, and staff. We recognize the thrill and challenge that can accompany being part of the first generation in one’s family to pursue a four-year college degree. Through the First-Generation Mentoring Program, we strive to connect first-gen students with faculty and staff for additional meaningful support, guidance, and perspective.

Who can participate?

The program is designed to provide support to:

• First-generation students: students who are of the first generation in their family to pursue a four-year college degree, and international students who are the first in their family to pursue a four-year college degree in the United States.

• Low-income or students from underrepresented backgrounds.

If you are interested in finding a mentor, or you are a first-gen faculty or staff member wanting to provide this important support and guidance, please complete the appropriate “STUDENT” or “MENTOR” form below.
