SPRING 2026: Carolynn Van Dyke

The Carolynn Van Dyke Prize funds will be used to provide non-traditional learning experiences for a student(s) majoring in any subject with preference given to a student (s) majoring in Computer Science. Non-traditional learning experiences would include opportunities for education, growth and personal development that are not provided in the usual course work offered in the regular academic year or in paid and credit-bearing internships. The prize fund is made available to the recipient(s) during the summer to engage in a non-traditional learning experience such as domestic or foreign travel, social service work, research, internship in a non-profit organization, etc. Preferably, proposals should be for experiences that broaden the student’s horizons rather than those directly related to course work in technical or scientific subjects or to prepare for a career. The recipients will be selected on the basis of the quality of the proposal, it’s originality and value to the individual, and the individual’s need for such financial assistance.
