What does being a first-gen student mean to you?

Being a first-gen student presents itself with a host of challenges that I’ve met and overcome with time. Being a first-gen college student has allowed me to have a  different perspective of college/academic life and life in general that has become an integral part of who I am as a student, friend, and leader.

Why are you excited to be a first-gen mentor?

I am excited to be a first-gen mentor because I am looking to make a positive impact on the college experiences of first-generation students at Lafayette.
