Dear Faculty Colleagues,

I hope you are enjoying your summer thus far. As we prepare to welcome the Class of 2026, we want to provide you with an update on matters related to first-year students’ course selection and advising.

June 12th was the original “deadline” for first-year students to submit their course selection survey, but the survey remained open for students to select their preferences. Based on survey submissions, the Registrar’s Office is currently processing schedules, and students should expect to receive their schedules in August.

Timeline for Class of 2026:

  • End of July/first week of August: First year student advising assignments completed and posted in Banner
  • Week of August 8: New PINs sent to advisors by Registrar’s office; preliminary schedules sent to all students with instructions for online course Each student will receive a personal email that includes their current schedule and important notes regarding the course adjustment period.
  • August 15-26: Online course adjustment period open; automated waitlist notification process runs.
  • August 26, 4:00PM: Automated waitlist notification process ends and waitlists cleared
  • August 29: Fall classes begin
  • August 29 – September 9: Add/Drop on Banner Self Service with electronic permission from instructor/department only

Some students may contact you with questions about their selected courses. Please note that students’ schedules are subject to change based on course availability, updated test scores, confirmation of placement tests, and/or receipt of final transcripts. Until advisor assignments are completed, you are welcome to refer all students to our office or forward their emails directly to deanofadvising@lafayette.edu.

We will send another email in August about orientation. Until then, let us know if you have any questions!

Sincerely,

Tim Cox
