Personal Statement |
My deep commitment to Lafayette drove many choices I made and informed how I spent my time these past four years. I take pride in knowing that I will be leaving this community better than I found it.
In my first year, the Women’s Club Soccer Team was on the verge of disbanding. Recognizing its importance for women athletes, I led its revival as president – tripling membership, securing jerseys, and transforming it into the thriving team it is today.
That moment set the tone for everything. Where I saw a gap, I filled it. When something mattered, I fought for it.
I applied this same drive in the classroom. Recognizing the power of language as a cultural connector, I served as a Language Lab proctor for Hebrew, Spanish, and Arabic. As a Hebrew TA, I revitalized interest in the curriculum. I also maintained a 3.91 GPA, earned a spot on the Dean’s List every semester, and joined Pi Sigma Alpha.
Through every leadership role, I contributed that same sense of purpose. As a LEO, tour guide, and interviewer, I helped first-years find belonging and connection. As DEI Chair of The Women’s Network, I organized a talk with the founder of the Jewish Democrats of Pennsylvania organization to broaden perspectives about women in politics.
My research with GovLab, thesis on the Supreme Court, and internships with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and California Senator Scott Wiener weren’t just experiences, but opportunities to create change. At every step, I committed to impacting the communities I care about, including Lafayette.
Lafayette gave me more than an education; it showed me the power of investing fully in a place and myself. I found where I belong – not by following a path, but by creating one; not just by being here, but by building something worth leaving behind. |
