Monica Cottrell has spent almost two decades working as a professional advisor in higher education and, before coming to Lafayette College, served as a Transitions Advisor and the Director of Academic Advising at Moravian University. Monica has also worked as a Career Advisor, Associate Professor at Lehigh Carbon Community College. She has extensive experience in academic and career advising, and working with first-year and transfer students. As an active member of NACADA (The Global Community for Academic Advising), Monica has presented both regionally and nationally and has served as the Eastern PA liaison on the Region 2 Steering Committee and as the Chair of the Advising Community on Transfer Students Steering Committee. Monica holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Akron, and a B.A. in Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to a passion for student success, Monica is also always willing to talk about her dog, CrossFit, and the best pizza options in Easton.
