Students must complete at least one-half of the courses for graduation in residence by course registration at Lafayette or by cross registration at LVAIC colleges (16 courses for Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science; 19 courses for Bachelor of Science in Engineering).
Students attending Lafayette faculty-led or Lafayette-affiliated off-campus programs are classified as full-time for this requirement.
For all students, the senior year must be completed in full-time residence at Lafayette. “Full”-time is defined to be a minimum of three courses per semester.
For compelling educational reasons approved in advance by the faculty advisor, a student may apply to the Student Affairs Committee for permission to study off-campus for one of the last two semesters, normally the seventh.
At least one-half of the courses applied toward major requirements must be taken at Lafayette.
Transfer students who enter Lafayette, as juniors, must complete at least half of the course work required for the degree by registration in courses at Lafayette. The maximum number of transfer courses to be approved toward the degree is 16 courses for Bachelor of Arts students. For Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science in Engineering students, the maximum number to be approved may not exceed 19.
