My name is Sarah Newman, and I am the President of the Marquis Scholars and Fellows. I’m a rising junior from Arlington, Virginia, majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Spanish. Following a core MSF value – balancing academics with personal passions – I serve as a captain of Lafayette’s Division I swim team, conduct research under Dr. Ryan Van Horn, and work as an Admissions tour guide.

As President of the Marquis Scholars and Fellows, I strive to cultivate a strong, engaged community of scholars. Our events, such as seasonal formals and keynote speaker series, offer opportunities for members to connect with peers while exploring both academic and social interests. The executive board is committed to creating spaces for meaningful interaction through our MSF mentorship program, campus-wide enrichment events, or Admissions outreach efforts. Our goal is to make a lasting impact on the Lafayette community.

What I love most about MSF is the spirit and enthusiasm of its members. The energy is contagious and plays a vital role in creating the diverse community I deeply value. Through MSF, I’ve built life-long friendships and inspiring connections. I am passionate about providing that same experience for every Marquis Scholar and Fellow.

Hi everyone! My name is Mika Harari and I am the vice president of MSF. I am pursuing a dual degrees in Neuroscience and Chemistry with a Music minor. I am the vice president of the Pre Health Professions Society, event coordinator of the Neuroscience Club, and am the secretary of Tri Beta (the Biology Honors Society). I also play in a band and am involved with the LIMS. Starting in the fall I will be a Chemistry TA, and a freshmen RA. I will also be doing neuroscience research with Professor Hallock.

I am proud to be on the MSF board. I love the community that MSF has to offer – it is an opportunity to meet and learn from extraordinary individuals with unique backgrounds and interests. On the board I hope to make all our members feel included in our awesome community, and keep building and improving our events and opportunities.

Hi! This is David Broczkowski and I am a rising sophomore at Lafayette! On campus, I am involved with MSF as the event chair (not sure if this is the right term), I am the Assistant Music Director for the Lafayette Chorduroys, play in the Pep Band, Concert Band, and Contemporary Music Ensemble and play Club Tennis. I also love to play table tennis so I might be in the game room at Kirby Sports Center from time to time! As a part of the MSF Board, I want to help organize events that will allow members to take a break from academics and get to know people and form connections within the MSF community. These events are a key player in building a strong and inclusive community and I am looking forward to being able to provide these spaces and activities for MSF members and friends! MSF during my time at Lafayette has always been a great community that allows students to both have fun with their friends but also meet new people and make connections with other members. I hope to continue to foster this community through planning and organizing events alongside the board this year. Whether it be through formals, Iron Pigs games, Phantoms games, or more, I cannot wait to meet you all this coming year! See you then!

Hi! My name is Rania and I’m double majoring in economics and math. I’m a member of club volleyball, investment club, and the math club. I volunteer in the Easton community through programs with the Landis Center, including EACC and Meals at Third. I’m also an RA!

I am the treasurer for MSF this year, and as a part of the board I am hoping to get more members of MSF involved with the MSF community, as well as to strengthen MSF’s engagement with the overall Lafayette community. I love being a part of MSF for the great group of people that it’s made up of and the awesome events that bring us all together, so I am looking forward to contributing to MSF this year as a member of the board!

Hi my name is Piper Chimento and I am from Lake George, New York. I am a senior double majoring in Government/Law and Anthropology/Sociology. While at school I am the secretary for Ski Team, a USCSA Student Representative, a Peer Educator  within PAVE, a member of Delta Gamma, and also work for REC Services!

As a board member of MSF I am looking to highlight more of what our amazing members accomplish. Using our social media I would like to expand the impact that MSF has, and showcase individuals talents, projects, and accomplishments. I am so lucky to be a member of MSF, it has connected me with like minded individuals, and supplied me with resourceful academic connections at Lafayette.
