What does being a first-gen student mean to you?

Being a first-generation student is a source of pride for me because I was able to fulfill one of my parents’ aims of attaining higher education that they set for their “American Dream” when they immigrated from Nepal to the U.S.

Why are you excited to be a first-gen mentor?

I’m excited to be a first-gen mentor because I strive to be a resource and support system for other first-generation students as they endeavor towards their goals. I hope to share my guidance and experiences so my fellow peers feel assured they are not alone throughout their college journey.
