What does being a first-gen student mean to you?

To me, being a first generation student is a privilege that I intend to take advantage of. My parents worked very hard to give me the higher education they didn’t have, and I hope to work equally as hard to make them proud. 

Why are you excited to be a first-gen mentor?

I’m excited to meet other first generation students and share with them how amazing college can be! I know that being a first generation student means you don’t have the same kind of guidance that other students do so I want to help fill in those gaps.
