What does being a first-gen student mean to you?

Being a FirstGen mentor means that I can give knowledge and advice to someone who was in a similar position as I was once I arrived on campus.

Why are you excited to be a first-gen mentor?

I’m excited to be a first gen mentor because I want to be a person who makes the transition from high school to college as smooth as possible. I know that it could be a difficult transition and I want to be an ally and a resource on campus to ensure my mentee that I am someone who is rooting for their success and can’t wait to see the possible impact that I can make on someone’s experiences at Lafayette College.
