Arriving on a college campus is both exhilarating and overwhelming for all students. In order to support our first-generation student population, we decided to build upon our Faculty & Staff First-Generation Mentoring Program and create the First-Generation Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program.
While Lafayette College provides numerous resources to all students, we understand that our first-generation students often need additional support as they embark on their newest educational journey. The main goal of this program is to connect first-year, first-gen students with a peer mentor early on so they can find comfort in having a peer resource to consistently meet with prior to arriving on campus in the fall, as well as throughout their entire first-year.
